This WiFi adaptor is great for applications where a more directional antenna is required. Especially useful on boats or in caravans where the hull/walls reduce the available signal from the nearby HotSpot. Many of our customers use these devices in their boats, especially as the HWU8DD can be easily sited on a shelf or on the chart table where the small footprint does not take up much space. Hawking claim a 300% increase in distance. In our experience there is certainly an improvement, however the most useful thing is that the device has a row of blue LEDs to indicate signal strength, meaning you don’t have to rely on the somewhat inaccurate ‘Bar’ display offered by Windows.!!
